The Parisian Way of Life

At the start of last week I ventured in Europe and capital of France, I was expecting the worst as the last time I was in Paris for one night on my way to Montreal (its a long story why I was in Paris), I just remember the smell of urine was rich in the air.

But this time my feelings and views on the French capital have changed, see the city in daytime helped, the centre of Paris is beautiful, long boulevards lined with trees and in a logical layout. The 19th century architecture of Paris adds to the beauty of the city, with impressive detail on nearly all the buildings, This was after a short French ruler chose to rebuild Paris. The Arc de Triomphe being one of the most impressive in Paris along with the Eiffel Tower of course.

Anyway while I was there I had some random going ons, one thing which is bad thing about Paris is it is expensive, for example the bar in the hotel charged 20 Euros of a sandwich which is about £16 for a sandwich !!! The funniest drink out was in this posh bar in the place owned by Renault where is cost over 25 Euros (£20) just for "four" drinks, well the guy charge us for five drinks but I never saw the coke I ordered, also three of the drinks were half price so the bill should have nearer 50 Euros, as I said to my dad I think we got a good deal there as we left after the waiter had short changed us as he didn't have any change.
Also the wonderful saying "O its a small world" came up after being served by a French waiter in the hard rock cafe who had lived in Chatham several miles from my home.

Of the final day we went to the Louvre home to the Mona Lisa, after being push from every direction it was like being at a gig, I saw it and I was disappointed I knew that is was small I was expecting that but I don't know I just can't see what the fuss its about, I much rather look at Francis Bacon's work. I have never been in a museum which has been so busy go to the British Museum at this time of year and you can easily walk around it, I know I went there yesterday.

On the went back to Gard Nord to catch the Eurostar we while treated to a ride through Paris in a taxi at rush hour, crazy, you get to a junction with no road markings or signs, and the cars are just going everywhere.

So as I sit on the Eurostar watching the French countryside disappear, I think i am now a fan of short city breaks, also what an amazing city and one I have no doubt I will return to in the future.

My first even blog post

I am abit late in getting a blog (even my dad has a blog), but as I am going to uni next month I thought it was a good time to start one, and after a recent trip to Paris I thought that my funny and weird experiences there and other random happenings in my life would make a good funny blog to read (well thats the aim).
